Role Summary :

The Database DevOps Engineer will be responsible for managing, automating, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server database environments in distributed, enterprise-scale architectures. The role focuses on database reliability, automation, performance, and seamless integration of database operations within DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage and administer Microsoft SQL Server databases in multi-tier, distributed environments

- Design, implement, and maintain DevOps practices for database operations and deployments

- Develop and automate SQL Server operational tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell

- Design and manage automated backup and recovery pipelines for distributed SQL Server instances

- Monitor database performance, availability, and health across environments

- Integrate SQL Server health metrics and backup status into centralized monitoring dashboards

- Plan and execute database migrations using appropriate migration tools

- Support database design for new applications and enhancements to existing systems

- Participate in functional test planning, execution, and validation for assigned projects

- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to ensure reliable database delivery

- High availability, stability, and performance of SQL Server database environments

- Reduction in manual database operations through effective automation

- Reliable backup, recovery, and disaster preparedness across environments

- Successful execution of database migrations with minimal downtime

Required Skillsets :

- Strong DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases

- In-depth knowledge of relational database technologies and enterprise architectures

- Hands-on expertise with SQL Server 2025 and SSIS

- Advanced skills in T-SQL for performance tuning and automation

- Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automating database operations

- Experience with database migration tools and techniques

- Knowledge of backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies

- Experience integrating database metrics into monitoring and observability platforms

- Understanding of DevOps principles applied to database environments

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
