Senior Snowflake Developer with Matillion

Job Description :

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Snowflake Developer with Matillion to join our data engineering team.

The ideal candidate is a proficient data professional with a strong background in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions.

This role requires a deep understanding of data warehousing principles, hands-on experience with the Snowflake platform, and expertise in using Matillion for ELT processes.

The ability to write performant SQL queries and collaborate with cross-functional teams is crucial for success.

Role : Senior Snowflake Developer with Matillion

Location : Remote Offshore (India)

Duration : 6+ Month(s)

Key Responsibilities :

Design and Development : Architect, design, and implement robust and scalable data pipelines and ELT solutions using Snowflake and Matillion ETL.
Data Transformation : Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ELT) within Snowflake.
Matillion Expertise : Create and manage complex orchestration and transformation jobs in Matillion to build efficient and reliable data pipelines.
Performance Tuning : Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot performance issues within the Snowflake environment, optimizing queries, warehouses, and overall data architecture.
Data Modeling : Apply advanced data modeling techniques (e., star schema, snowflake schema) to design and build data marts and data warehouses.
Integration : Integrate Snowflake with various data sources (on-premise databases, cloud storage, APIs) and third-party tools.
Collaboration : Work closely with data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and data solutions.
Security & Governance : Implement and manage data security, role-based access control (RBAC), and data sharing policies in Snowflake.
Automation & Best Practices : Automate data workflows, implement CI / CD pipelines, and enforce best practices for code management and data governance.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Experience : 12-15 years of professional experience in data warehousing, data engineering, or a related field.

Snowflake Proficiency : Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, features (e., Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, Snowpipe), and Snowflake SQL.

Matillion Expertise : Proven experience designing, developing, and managing data pipelines using the Matillion ETL tool.

Cloud Platforms : Strong knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Data Warehousing : In-depth understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts.

SQL Skills : Exceptional proficiency in writing and optimizing complex, performant SQL queries.

Scripting : Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting for automation and custom development is a plus.

Soft Skills :

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Must be able to work in an Agile environment and effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications :

Certifications : Snowflake certification (e., SnowPro Core, SnowPro Advanced).

BI Tools : Knowledge of business intelligence (BI) tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

CI / CD : Experience with CI / CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data projects.

Agile : Experience working in an Agile development environment
