Key Responsibilities :
1. Supervision of Nursing Staff
- Lead and supervise a team of nurses within the assigned unit / ward.
- Delegate tasks effectively, monitor performance, and provide guidance on clinical procedures.
- Ensure adequate nurse staffing and manage duty rosters in coordination with the nursing supervisor.
2. Patient Care Oversight
Ensure the delivery of quality and safe patient care in line with treatment plans.Monitor critical patients and coordinate with doctors for timely interventions.Address patient and family concerns regarding nursing care and escalate as needed.3. Clinical Documentation & Audits
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of nursing records, vital signs, medication charts, and nursing care plans.Participate in internal audits and maintain compliance with NABH / JCI or other accreditation standards.4. Staff Training & Development
Assist in training new nursing staff and mentoring junior nurses.Identify skill gaps and recommend training sessions or clinical demonstrations.Conduct bedside teaching and briefings during shift changes.5. Infection Control & Protocol Compliance
Ensure adherence to infection control practices, biomedical waste management, and hospital SOPs.Conduct regular checks on nursing procedures, hand hygiene, and safety protocols.6. Coordination & Communication
Act as a liaison between nursing staff and medical / surgical teams.Coordinate with allied departments (pharmacy, housekeeping, diagnostics) for patient support.Participate in daily rounds and communicate care plans to team members.Skills Required
