Role Description

This is a contract role for an Infoblox DDI Engineer, based on-site in Fremont, CA. The Infoblox DDI Engineer will be responsible for managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing DNS, DHCP, and IPAM services using Infoblox technology. Daily tasks include configuring and maintaining DDI platforms, ensuring network reliability, implementing best practices, and supporting infrastructure scalability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and provide solutions is a key aspect of this role.

The Infoblox DDI Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and troubleshooting of Infoblox DDI solutions (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) to ensure the high availability, performance, and security of the organization's core network infrastructure. This role involves integrating Infoblox with other network and security platforms and automating DDI workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and Maintain Infoblox :  Configure, manage, and maintain Infoblox NIOS appliances and services (DNS, DHCP, IPAM).
• Design and Implement DDI Solutions :  Design and implement a scalable DDI architecture, including DNS zones, subnets, DHCP scopes, and IP address assignments, to meet business needs.
• Monitor and Troubleshoot :  Proactively monitor DDI systems for performance, availability, and capacity issues, and provide expert-level troubleshooting and incident response to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
• Implement Security Best Practices :  Enforce and manage DNS security measures, such as DNSSEC, DNS Firewall (Response Policy Zones - RPZ), and Advanced DNS Protection (ADP).
• Automation and Integration :  Develop and maintain automation scripts (using Python, Perl, or shell scripting) for DDI workflows, reporting, and integration with other platforms (e.g., cloud services like AWS / Azure, SIEM, ServiceNow, firewalls) using APIs / WAPI.
• Documentation and Compliance :  Prepare and maintain up-to-date documentation detailing the configuration of deployed solutions and operational procedures, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
• Collaboration and Support :  Collaborate with network, security, and cloud teams to align DDI services with organizational needs and provide technical support / mentorship to junior team members.
• Upgrades and Patching :  Apply patches, updates, and security fixes in a timely manner according to vendor recommendations.
