JOB DESCRIPTION –Analyst (Investments)

BlackHill Fund Management LLP (https : / / blackhillfund.com) is the Investment Manager of BlackHill Fund I , a growth fund employing both PE and VC strategies to generate returns. BlackHill Fund I is a SEBI registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) and invests INR 40-80 crore in each portfolio company.

BlackHill Fund supports entrepreneurs in consumer, food, healthcare, sustainability, financial services and sector agnostic businesses (20% of fund size) in the middle stages of growth.

Rajesh Ranjan, the founder of BlackHill Fund Management LLP has more than two decades of experience in equity investing in venture capital, private equity, hedge fund, proprietary equity and public markets. Prior to BlackHill, Ranjan was the founding CEO of NABVENTURES and has worked with Q Investments LP (USA), a multi-strategy hedge fund, CapAleph Fund, IDFC Proprietary Equity etc.

Nilesh Agrawal is the co-founder of BlackHill Fund Management LLP and has a deep experience in management and tech consulting, business analysis, strategy etc. His work experience includes UST Global, a digital transformation company, EPAM, a product engineering and digital transformation consulting company in USA, Accenture (USA) etc. Nilesh is an MBA from IIM Calcutta.

The Board of Advisors of BlackHill include Mr. Ashok Nair (former MD, Abbott Labs India), Prof. Anindya Ghose (Heinz Riehl Chair Professor at NYU Stern School of Business), Mr. Jim Totty (MD, Viridis Capital (UK)), Mr. Sumit Banerjee, Head-Corporate Strategy, Comcast NBCUniversal (USA), Mr. Suryakumar PVS (former Deputy MD of NABARD), Mr. Pankaj Jathar (CEO, NIIT Limited), Arun Agarwal (former Country Head of Institutional and Government banking at YES Bank) and others.

BlackHill is looking to onboard one Analyst for its investment team.

Position : Analyst (Investments)

Location : Mumbai

Key Responsibilities :

Ø Intensive research of the focus areas (including sector agnostic areas) of Blackhill Fund I

Ø Deal origination and evaluation

Ø Tracking of market trends and developments

Ø Building of detailed financial models for business and investment decision making

Ø Preparation of deal documents such as Investment Memorandum, issuance of Term Sheets, drafting / review of Shareholder Agreements etc.

Ø Portfolio monitoring, scale up strategies and MIS data analytics

What we are looking for :

Ø Good investment track record in PE / VC (this gets high weightage).

Ø 3-7 years of relevant working experience in venture capital / private equity investments at leading funds (profiles with investment experience in INR 40-80 crore range or higher will be preferred)

Ø Team player

Ø Strong networking skills

Ø Strong academic credentials (preferably MBA / PGDM) from top tier institutions

Ø Prior experience in BlackHill’s focus areas would be a plus

Ø High degree of attention to detail

Ø Comfortable in handling ambiguity

Ø Strong research capability

Remuneration : Competitive

The remuneration would be on a Cost to Company basis.
