Position Overview
We are a seed-funded startup focused on using state-of-the-art AI technologies to revolutionize the credit industry. Our team consists of experts in machine learning and software engineers who have worked at top-tier US tech companies like Apple, Amazon, etc , and we are passionate about using AI to improve access to credit information for businesses. We have the product on the market, the first clients, and sufficient runway. This critical leadership role requires an experienced individual who excels in both frontend and backend development and has the vision and capability to steer our entire technology strategy. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-6 years of extensive experience in software development and team leadership, ready to lead the engineering efforts to architect, develop, and scale our products while managing all technological operations. You should be a strong IC as well as a strong manager at the same time. This role is on track evolving to the CTO role where the right candidate may start as Head of Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Technical Leadership : Serve as the primary technology leader, responsible for the architectural decisions and overall strategic direction of the engineering department. Drive technological innovation and maintain oversight of the development and deployment of all tech products.
- Team Development and Management : Lead, mentor, and expand a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of high performance, innovation, and collaboration. Develop talent within the team, providing career growth opportunities and guidance.
- Operational and Project Oversight : Ensure the efficiency and scalability of systems, manage software development, and maintain infrastructure to support organizational growth. Oversee major projects to ensure high-quality execution and alignment with business goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Communicate effectively with other executives, board members, and potential investors to report on technology strategies and effectiveness. Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Future Technology Vision : Develop and implement a comprehensive Engineering strategy, planning for the integration of new tech as the company scales. Stay ahead of the curve with emerging technologies that could impact our business model.
- Budget Management : Oversee the technology budget and prioritize investments in hardware, software, and human resources to maximize ROI and drive innovation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.At least 5-6 years of experience in software development , covering both frontend and backend technologies. At least 2+ years in being a technical lead or an engineering manager.Proven track record in building scalable, high-performance technology systems and teams.Strong familiarity with the latest in cloud architecture, software development practices, and technology trends, preferably with significant experience in AWS environments.Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor, inspire, and motivate a diverse team.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners.What We Offer
