We are looking for a talented and dynamic individual to join our Data Engineering team at Marsh Mc Lennan. This role is based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office :
We will count on you to :
- Understand the business and the nuances of each UK Specialty to and become the principal insurance domain specialist.
- Understand the dynamics of the UK & Global markets and the implication on the specialties and the way they run their business
- Develop a deep understanding of Digital trading platforms and other systems to optimize them for the business
- Gain a thorough understanding of the digital placement data and how it interacts with the larger Marsh data eco-system
- Build consolidated views using disparate data sources and placement data that includes Coverages, Exposures, Losses and trading data that can provide insights
- Solve business pain points using “Business Consultant” skills using data and technology – lies with the business and data leaders
- Leverage data and domain expertise to conceptualize and deliver on ambiguous projects with specific revenue potential e.g. help place a new energy facility in the London market with placement data
What you need to have :
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science / Statistics / Mathematics / Economics / Engineering discipline10-12 years of experience in BI and reporting – should have worked on Enterprise wide reporting systems and built dashboards and reports from the ground up2-3 years of Team Management experience handling a minimum team size of 2-3 analystsProblem solving within the constraints of a corporate IT environment.Ability to think independently and define KPI’s that align with the business strategy and goalsTechnical Skills :
Data Engineering and Data transformation skills – SQL or OracleData Visualization – Power BI is a must have, tableau or Qlik would be a good to haveExposure and familiarity with cloud platforms like Databricks on Azure and AWSAbility to optimize data pipelines to perform complex data transformationsPeople and Team :
Institutionalize the business and domain knowledge gained through Knowledge management principles and techniquesCoaching and mentoring the team on a day-to-day basis to enhance their domain knowledge and business understandingBuild technical capability for self and the team starting with AWS data bricks and other cloud technology that will be required to deliver solutionsSoft Skills :
