Software Deployment Engineer

Job Summary

A Software Deployment Engineer is responsible for managing the deployment lifecycle of software applications. This role involves collaborating with development teams to plan deployment strategies and timelines, ensuring smooth and efficient software releases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Deployment Planning : Collaborate with development teams to plan deployment strategies and timelines.
• System Monitoring : Perform system monitoring and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Deployment Execution : Deploy and maintain software applications and infrastructure across multiple environments.
• Automation : Create and maintain deployment scripts to automate the deployment process.
• Testing and Validation : Conduct testing and validation of deployed applications to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Documentation : Document deployment processes and procedures for internal and external use.
• Support : Provide support to development teams in release management activities.
• Policy Adherence : Ensure adherence to deployment policies and procedures.
• Training : Deliver informal and formal training to designated customer staff.

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience : Experience with deployment tools such as Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, or Azure DevOps.

Skills : Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash, strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies, familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, excellent troubleshooting skills, and strong communication and collaboration skills.

Technical Skills : Server hardware and network configurations, switches, Java, networking and network topologies, web servers, routing protocols, virtualization.

Soft Skills : Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
