Springbord is hiring an experienced AWS Postgre SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with 8–12 years of hands-on expertise in managing, optimizing, and securing Postgre SQL databases on AWS. This role is ideal for a skilled database professional who can ensure high performance, reliability, and automation of database operations in a cloud environment.
Job Title – AWS Postgre SQL Database Administrator (DBA) Location – Chennai Work Mode – Remote / Hybrid Experience – 8–12 Years
Role Description 8-12 years of experience, graduate with a computer science background, strong AWS cloud services expertise, proficiency in SQL and database security. Implement and monitor Postgre SQL databases on AWS, optimize performance, manage backups and disaster recovery, collaborate with development for automation
Qualification
Any graduate with Computer science background
Hands-on and Strong experience with AWS cloud services, especially Amazon RDS for Postgre SQL, advantage on knowledge on Amazon Aurora Postgre SQL
Hands-on with high proficiency in SQL, query performance tuning, and stored procedures
Good exposure with IAM, VPC, KMS, and other AWS security tools
Experience with backup and disaster recovery strategies in AWS
Proficiency on monitoring and automation tools (e.g., Cloud Watch, Datadog, etc)
AWS Certifications such as AWS Certified Database Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect
Knowledge on Postgre SQL extensions like Post GIS, pg_stat_statements, and logical replication
Roles and responsibilities
Should have implemented Design, Deployment of Postgre SQL database on AWS. Knowledge of Aurora is advantages
Monitor and recommendation on optimization of database performance via AWS Cloud Watch, performance insights and advice on enhancement from time to time
Should monitor and proactively perform backup activity with distress recovery strategies via AWS services
Good knowledge on database security and compliances aligned to company policies like IAM security, VPC, etc
Work closely with development team for automating database operations, as per recommendation from AWS Cloud Watch, etc
Continuous monitor the performance and trouble shoot with quicker turnaround time
Flexible working works to keep the system for all time performance
Maintain proper documentation for all upgrades, troubleshooting active for future use
Recommendation for cost optimization from time to time
Maintenance and smooth running of database
Alerts to respective stakeholders for upcoming incidence for proactive measures
