Description :
We are seeking a Technical Lead to drive the technical vision and hands-on delivery of EduFund's core product platform.
Responsibilities :
- Defining and implementing architectural guardrails for scalability, reliability, and security.
- Leading the engineering team to deliver features and platform improvements at speed.
- Mentoring and upskilling engineers, while staying close enough to the code to guide design choices.
- Ensuring that short-term delivery aligns with long-term system health and product evolution.
Architecture and Technical Strategy :
Define and evolve the overall system architecture for a scalable, secure, and modular fintech platform.Establish platform boundaries, API contracts, and data migration roadmaps for new and existing modules.Design for high availability, fault tolerance, and observability to support business-critical operations.Drive cloud infrastructure strategy (AWS / EKS, container orchestration, cost optimization).Champion adoption of modern development practices (CI / CD, IaC, automated testing, monitoring).Embed AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and quality.Technical Execution and Delivery :
Translate product roadmaps into milestone-based engineering plans (30-60-day deliverables).Ensure timely and reliable releases of new features and platform enhancements.Lead efforts to stabilize and refactor legacy components, reducing tech debt and improving performance.Set up SLIs, SLOs, and incident management processes to maintain system reliability.People Leadership and Mentorship :
Lead a growing team of 6-10+ engineers across backend, frontend, and DevOps.Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship, raising the overall technical bar.Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.Support career growth through coaching, feedback, and development plans.Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Work closely with founders, product managers, and business leaders to prioritise trade-offs and align technology decisions with business outcomes.Communicate engineering trade-offs and architectural decisions in plain language to non-technical stakeholders.Actively contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and scaling of the engineering team.Requirements :
10- 12 years of experience in software engineering, with 3-5 years in engineering management or tech lead roles.Proven expertise in end-to-end architecture and scalable system design, ideally in product-based fintech or high-traffic B2C / B2B platforms.Hands-on experience with MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js ), Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes / EKS, Terraform, CI / CD pipelines), Monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch).Strong track record of shipping products under tight deadlines and improving system performance / reliability.Experience leading team transformations : stabilising legacy code, implementing engineering best practices.Familiarity with embedding AI tools into the developer lifecycle (test automation, code reviews, productivity metrics).Ability to thrive in early-stage, high-ambiguity startup environments, balancing speed with long-term architectural needs.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.(ref : hirist.tech)
