PostgreSQL- MySQL Database Administrator

Description

Support the administration of PostgreSQL and / or MySQL databases across development, test, and production environments.

Assist with the deployment, monitoring, backup, and recovery of databases, ensuring availability, security, and reliability.

Collaborate with senior DBAs, application teams, and DevOps engineers to deliver scalable and cost-effective solutions.

Participate in performance monitoring and tuning activities to ensure optimal system performance.

Contribute to automation efforts (provisioning, patching, reporting) using scripting and infrastructure-as-code under guidance.

Support high availability and disaster recovery implementations.

Help document processes, runbooks, and standards to improve consistency and knowledge sharing.

Participate in on-call rotation as part of the global DBA team.

Stay current with databases and cloud innovations, developing skills for future career growth.

Qualifications

2–5 years of experience as a Database Administrator (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar database technology).

Basic to intermediate knowledge of AWS database services or willingness to learn.

Understanding performance tuning, SQL optimization, and monitoring tools.

Familiarity with backup / recovery, HA / DR concepts, and security best practices.

Some exposure to automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or scripting languages such as Python / Bash) is desirable.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive learning mindset.

Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a globally distributed team.
