Position Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal AI Engineer (Core Backend Developer Python) with deep expertise in AI, cloud ecosystems, and backend engineering.

You will play a founding-level role, driving the architecture and development of the AI Agent Engine, backend APIs, and data pipelines that power our platform.

This role requires not just coding ability, but also architectural thinking, leadership in AI-driven projects, the ability to integrate across cloud environments and bootstrapping AI agents using the latest AI development platforms across AWS, Azure, GCP and open's ource ecosystems, with a proven track record in building Autonomous AI Agents, leading high-performance technical teams, and translating domain expertise into scalable, intelligent systems.

This individual will play a critical role in architecting, implementing, and scaling our AI-driven platform across public, private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.

You will collaborate directly with executive leadership, subject matter experts (SMEs), and strategic advisors, converting their deep knowledge into agentic workflows that enable intelligent, accountable, and automated Autonomous AI Agents actions.

Key Responsibilities :

Backend Engineering & AI Systems :

  • Design, develop, and optimize the core backend platform in Python, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Build the AI Agent Engine that enables autonomous decision-making using rules-based rubrics evolving into learning-driven knowledge graphs.
  • Implement data ingestion pipelines from multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS sources.
  • Develop APIs and microservices to support FinOps dashboards, agent orchestration, and policy enforcement.

AI / ML Integration :

  • Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and RAG / Graph RAG pipelines into backend services.
  • Work with Neo4j (graph DB), Pinecone (vector DB), and Aurora PostgreSQL to support reasoning, memory, and reporting.
  • Optimize AI workloads for latency, throughput, and cost efficiency across cloud infrastructure.

    • Cloud Ecosystem & FinOps Enablement :

  • Build services that monitor, analyze, and remediate cloud costs and performance inefficiencies.
  • Architect hybrid / multi-cloud deployments for AI agents and FinOps intelligence.
  • Translate FinOps governance rules into Policy-as-Code for automated enforcement.

    • Leadership & Collaboration :

  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor, guiding backend engineers and AI developers.
  • Collaborate with product managers, SMEs, and advisors to align business vision with engineering execution.
  • Drive best practices in MLOps / LLMOps, observability, and secure coding.

    • Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8+ years in backend software engineering with 5+ years in Python development.
  • Strong experience in AI / ML system integration, preferably with LLMs, embeddings, and agent-based architectures.
  • Proven track record in cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP), with deep understanding of cost optimization and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with :

    • 1. Databases : a. Neo4j

    b. Pinecone

    c. PostgreSQL (Aurora)

    2. Frameworks : a. FastAPI

    b. Flask

    c. Django

    d. LangChain

    e. Haystack

    3. MLOps / LLMOps tools :

    a. Model deployment

    b. Monitoring

    c. Retraining pipelines

  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI / CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving, system design, and debugging skills.

    • Preferred Skills :

  • Prior experience in a stealth startup or 0 ? 1 product build environment.
  • Knowledge of FinOps practices and cloud governance frameworks.
  • Exposure to autonomous agent frameworks and policy-as-code systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
