About the Role :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Playwright Test Automation Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. This role is pivotal for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our web applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Playwright and modern test automation practices, focusing on building robust, scalable automation frameworks and integrating testing seamlessly into our continuous delivery pipelines.
Key Responsibilities :
- Framework Development : Develop, maintain, and enhance automated UI and API test suites from the ground up primarily utilizing the Playwright framework.
- Test Strategy & Execution : Define, design, and execute comprehensive functional, regression, and end-to-end (E2E) test scenarios to validate application functionality across various browsers and environments.
- CI / CD Integration : Integrate test automation suites with our CI / CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback on code changes.
- Scripting & Troubleshooting : Apply strong scripting and programming skills (e.g., JavaScript / TypeScript) to develop complex test cases, reusable functions, and handle intricate scenarios.
- Collaboration : Work closely and efficiently with developers and business analysts to review technical specifications, refine requirements, and ensure test coverage aligns with business objectives.
- Defect Management : Accurately report and track defects using bug-tracking tools, communicating the severity and steps to reproduce clearly and concisely.
- Quality Assurance : Play a critical role in ensuring high-quality releases by defining clear test strategies, managing test environments, and certifying features for production deployment.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Experience : 5 to 8 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance and test automation.Playwright Mastery : Demonstrable deep expertise and hands-on experience building automation frameworks using Playwright.Automation Focus : Proven experience in developing and maintaining both UI and API automation scripts.CI / CD : Strong working knowledge of integrating automation tests into continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.Programming : Proficiency in a programming / scripting language commonly used with Playwright (e.g., JavaScript or TypeScript).Testing Fundamentals : Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), various testing methodologies, and quality assurance best practices.Attention to Detail : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and identifying edge cases.(ref : hirist.tech)
