Linux Infrastructure Specialist

• Provide L3 (Level 3) support for Linux-based systems, addressing escalated issues from L1 and L2 support teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues related to Linux servers, networking, storage, and performance.
• Perform regular system administration tasks, including server monitoring, backup management, patching, and configuration changes.
• Design, deploy, and maintain high-availability and scalable Linux environments.
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripting (Bash, Python, or Perl) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Cef).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (networking, security, and application) to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues.
• Manage kernel updates, upgrades, and troubleshoot any kernel-level issues.
• Optimise system performance, resource utilisation, and monitor system health using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
• Implement security best practices, including hardening servers, applying security patches, and ensuring compliance with security policies.
• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
