The Catalog Manager is responsible for managing, organizing, and optimizing the company's online product catalog to ensure a seamless customer experience and strong brand presentation. This role requires hands-on experience with Shopify, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to coordinate photo shoots to maintain consistent, high-quality visual content across all product listings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Catalog Management
Create, update, and maintain product listings on Shopify with accurate titles, descriptions, pricing, SKUs, tags, and categories.
Ensure consistent product taxonomy, naming conventions, and SEO-friendly content.
Monitor product availability, variants, and stock synchronization with inventory systems.
Conduct periodic catalog audits to remove duplicates and correct data discrepancies.
2. Content & Visual Management
Coordinate product photo shoots, including planning, scheduling, and liaising with photographers, stylists, and models.
Ensure product images meet brand guidelines, quality standards, and file naming conventions.
Manage post-production processes — retouching, resizing, and uploading assets.
Collaborate with design and marketing teams to ensure cohesive visual storytelling across all digital platforms.
3. Shopify & E-commerce Operations
Manage and optimize collections, navigation menus, filters, and product recommendations within Shopify.
Implement and maintain product tags and metafields for improved discoverability.
Work closely with the marketing team to launch new collections, promotions, and seasonal drops.
Support UX enhancements and conversion optimization initiatives on the Shopify storefront.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
Work with merchandising, design, and marketing teams to plan catalog updates aligned with campaigns and launches.
Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure product accuracy and timely online availability.
Support analytics and reporting on product performance, image effectiveness, and conversion trends.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in E-commerce, Marketing, Fashion Management, or related field.
2–5 years of experience managing product catalogs in an e-commerce environment (preferably fashion or lifestyle).
Proven experience with Shopify (mandatory) — including product uploads, tagging, collections, and theme management.
Experience coordinating photo shoots and working with creative teams.
Strong understanding of SEO, digital content management, and product merchandising.
Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets, and familiarity with tools like Canva, Photoshop, or Lightroom is an advantage.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience in fashion or apparel e-commerce.
Understanding of inventory and ERP integrations.
Strong aesthetic sense and awareness of current fashion photography trends.
Knowledge of Shopify apps for catalog automation, reviews, and bulk editing.
