Role Overview
We are looking for a Talent Sourcer who specialises in finding and engaging passive tech talent – not someone who relies on Naukri, Monster or other job boards. Your core job is to hunt, engage and nurture top engineers and tech professionals who are not actively looking and convert them into interested candidates.
Job Responsibilities
1. Passive Sourcing & Research
- Identify and build pipelines of software engineers and tech talent using :
- Recruiter, Boolean / X-Ray search
- GitHub, Stack Overflow, HackerEarth, Kaggle, etc.
- Online communities (Reddit, Discord, Telegram / Slack groups, meetups, hackathons, alumni networks).
- Create market maps of target companies, teams, talent pools and compensation ranges for critical roles.
- Maintain a steady pipeline for recurring and niche tech positions.
2. Outreach & Candidate Engagement
Write personalised outreach messages (InMails, emails, social DMs) that get high response rates – no generic templates.Pitch roles and the company value proposition in a way that resonates with each candidate’s background and motivators.Build long-term relationships with passive candidates through regular, value-adding touchpoints.3. Partnering with Recruiters & Hiring Managers
Work closely with recruiters and hiring managers to understand :Role requirements and “must-have vs good-to-have” skillsRelevant tech stacks (Java, .NET, Python, JS, Cloud, Data, QA, DevOps, etc.)Team culture, career growth and selling points.Share real-time market insights (talent availability, competition, salary benchmarks, sourcing challenges).4. Process, Tools & Reporting
Keep candidate data clean and updated in the ATS / CRM.Track and report sourcing metrics : pipeline volume, outreach, response rate, interviews, offers and hires.Experiment with new channels, tools and tactics; refine what works based on data.Qualifications
Must-Haves
1–5 years of experience in talent sourcing or recruitment , preferably focused on tech roles in India.Proven experience sourcing passive candidates beyond traditional job portals.Strong skills in Boolean / X-Ray search and Recruiter (or similar tools).Good understanding of technology roles and terminology (frontend vs backend, full stack, product vs services background, etc.).Excellent written and verbal communication ; able to craft sharp, personalised outreach.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.Nice-to-Haves
Experience hiring for startups, product companies or fast-growing tech teams .Familiarity with ATS / CRM systems and standard recruitment workflows.Exposure to tech communities, events, meetups or referral networks .Basic knowledge of compensation trends and candidate motivators in the Indian tech market.What Success Looks Like
