About the Role : We are seeking an experienced Atlassian Suite Administrator to serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all Atlassian products, particularly JIRA Software, JIRA Service Management, and Confluence, with 8-10 years of hands-on administration experience.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform comprehensive administration and configuration of JIRA instances, including projects, workflows, issue types, custom fields, screens, permissions, notification schemes, and board configurations (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Manage and administer user accounts, groups, and roles across the Atlassian suite, ensuring proper access control and security compliance.
  • Install, manage, and troubleshoot Atlassian add-ons, plugins, and extensions (e.g., ScriptRunner, Tempo, Automation for JIRA, Zephyr, Xray, Portfolio for JIRA).
  • Oversee regular maintenance tasks, including backups, performance monitoring, database optimization, and system upgrades for both JIRA Server / Data Center and Cloud environments.
  • Responsible for application health, availability, and performance of all Atlassian tools.
  • Collaborate extensively with stakeholders, product owners, Scrum Masters, and development teams to gather requirements, analyze existing processes, and design / implement highly customized and efficient JIRA workflows that align with business needs.
  • Implement advanced workflow features, including conditions, validators, post-functions, and automation rules using ScriptRunner (Groovy scripting) or JIRA Automation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and leverage Atlassian tools to streamline operations, eliminate redundancies, and enhance team productivity.
  • Integrate JIRA with various third-party tools such as CI / CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps), version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, GitHub), service desk platforms, Slack, and other enterprise applications.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., Python, Groovy, Shell) to automate routine tasks, generate reports, and facilitate data exchange between systems.
  • Leverage JIRA REST APIs to build custom integrations or extract data for reporting and analytics purposes.
  • Provide expert-level support to end-users, troubleshoot complex issues, and resolve JIRA-related problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs and user guides for JIRA features, best practices, and new functionalities for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for JIRA configurations, workflows, integrations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Promote adoption and best practices for Atlassian tools across the organization.
  • Design, create, and manage custom dashboards, filters (JQL), and reports to provide meaningful insights into project progress, team performance, and key metrics for various stakeholders.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, performance blockers, and areas for further optimization within JIRA.
  • Establish and enforce JIRA governance standards, best practices, and configuration guidelines across the organization.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for leveraging the Atlassian suite to meet evolving business requirements and improve overall organizational efficiency.
  • Participate in long-term planning for Atlassian tool roadmap, including version upgrades, migrations, and new tool evaluations.

Qualifications : 8-10 years of hands-on administration experience with Atlassian products.

Required Skills :

  • Expertise in JIRA Software, JIRA Service Management, and Confluence.
  • Strong understanding of JIRA workflows, configurations, and administration.
  • Experience with Atlassian add-ons and plugins.
  • Proficient in automation scripting (e.g., Python, Groovy, Shell).
  • Ability to integrate JIRA with third-party tools.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with CI / CD pipelines and version control systems.
  • Familiarity with JIRA REST APIs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and training abilities.
