Job Title : Maintenance Manager Chemical Division

Department : Engineering & Maintenance

Location : Dahej, Bharuch

Experience Required : 510 Years

Qualification : B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Job Purpose :

To lead and oversee the maintenance activities of the chemical plant, ensuring uninterrupted operations, equipment reliability, safety compliance, and cost-effective maintenance practices aligned with company objectives and statutory norms.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all mechanical, electrical, and utility equipment.
Ensure minimum downtime and maximum equipment availability.
Monitor maintenance KPIs such as MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).

2. Breakdown & Corrective Maintenance

Troubleshoot equipment failures promptly and ensure timely corrective action.

Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.

3. Equipment & Utilities Management

Supervise maintenance of reactors, pumps, compressors, boilers, chillers, ETP / STP, and other critical chemical plant machinery.

Coordinate with operations for equipment shutdowns and startups.

Ensure proper documentation and log maintenance for all utilities.

4. Safety, Compliance & Audit

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with ISO, GPCB, and statutory safety standards.

Maintain compliance records for DG sets, pressure vessels, and lifting equipment.

Participate in internal and external audits (safety, ISO, GPCB, etc.).

5. Vendor & Inventory Management

Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of critical spares.

Evaluate and develop maintenance vendors and service contractors.

6. Team Leadership & Development

Supervise maintenance technicians and contract workforce.

Conduct training on safety practices, equipment handling, and maintenance SOPs.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

7. Project & Cost Management

Support plant expansion or modification projects (CAPEX).

Monitor maintenance budgets and control costs effectively.

Desired Skills & Competencies :

Strong knowledge of chemical plant equipment and utilities.

Sound understanding of preventive maintenance systems and safety standards.

Proficient in MS Office and maintenance management software (SAP / ERP preferred).

Leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Exposure to ISO 9001 / 14001 systems and TPM practices.

Salary Range : Commensurate with experience & industry standards

Reporting To : Plant Head / Factory Manager
