System Administrator

Unix Administrator will administer and manage RHEL Infrastructure. This position will work closely with APAC Infrastructure, Application, Network and Security teams to manage RHEL platform for the APAC region.

Job Responsibilities :

Responsible for the administration and maintenance of Linux servers.

Plan and perform installation, configuration and migration of OS and related hardware and software.

Troubleshooting incidents, system problems and handle escalations to vendor.

Plan and perform scheduled preventive maintenance, OS patching / upgrades / hardening.

Provide system performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning.

Manage clustering (Pacemaker cluster)

Fulfil service request and change requests.

Manage VMware environment.

Work with other teams and vendors where applicable.

Provide day-to-day systems administration and operations, including 24x7 standby.

Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and shell scripts for automation of system management tasks.

Based on the operational experience gathered, design and implement infrastructure improvements for better security, stability, performance, and efficiency.

Provide technical support and advice for projects.

Maintain the documentation and the configuration.

Qualifications :

8+ years of relevant working experience as a Unix administrator.

Strong technical knowledge and experience in administration and maintenance of Linux.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong background in Unix technologies including High Availability and virtualization.

Storage admin / SAN technology from system perspective.

Experience with anti-virus implementation in RHEL.

Familiarity with ITSM, ITIL, or other relevant frameworks is a plus.

Proven ability to identify and improve performance measurement and reporting processes in a large organization.

Experience of working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams with a delivery focus in both project and operational environments

Excellent spoken and written Business English skills and the ability to write clear and concise text for different audiences.

Ability to handle confidential information with tact and sensitivity.

A flexible approach to adapt to changing deadlines.
