Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and develop C#.NET-based test software for measurement systems used in testing optical transceivers and sub-components for new product lines.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of hardware and software engineers to create robust test solutions for deployment in manufacturing environments.
- Partner with Product Development and Product Engineering teams to support product development and ensure smooth transition into production.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for new test procedures, systems, and software tools.
- Provide technical support for new product introductions and test applications across internal and contract manufacturing sites.
- Maintain and enhance existing test software used in production to ensure reliability and performance.
- Ensure all test solutions comply with quality standards and are optimized for scalability and efficiency.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's in engineering (preferably Computer Science) with a minimum 7 years of work experience.Strong programming skills in C# and .NET Framework / CoreExperience with test automation and instrument control, including :Oscilloscopes, Wavemeters, Logic Analyzers, Optical Power Meters, BERTs, Signal GeneratorsFamiliarity with communication protocols and interfaces such as :Serial Port (RS-232 / RS-485), USB, GPIB (IEEE-488), Ethernet (TCP / IP, UDP), VISAProficiency in SQL and working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL)Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or batch scriptingUnderstanding of software development best practices, including version control (e.g., Git), debugging, and unit testingExperience with multithreading, asynchronous programming, and performance optimizationKnowledge of manufacturing test environments and test data analysisStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a teamSkills
Experience in the optical communications or telecommunications industryFamiliarity with test frameworks and automated test systems (e.g., NI Test Stand, LabVIEW, or custom frameworks)Knowledge of optical transceiver standards (e.g., SFP, QSFP, OSFP) and related testing requirementsExposure to Agile development methodologies and DevOps practicesExperience working in high-volume manufacturing environmentsAbility to interpret electrical and optical schematics and test specificationsMust be hard-working with good communication skills.Must be able to work both independently with minimal guidance, as well as part of a team.Be flexible and ability to excel in a cross-organizational, cross-cultural, global team environmentWorking Conditions
