World Wide Technology is looking for a Netbackup Engineer role at Pune.

Position : Netbackup Engineer

Location : Pune

Duration : 12+ months with high possibility of extensions

Work Schedule : UK hours and Monday to Friday

Roles & Responsibilities :

• As part of the CS application decom we have some environments that need to perform an export into our formal regulatory archive system
• Since some of the data needed is historic we will need to perform a restore from tape for some of the applications first and then subsequently load the backup dump into a DB and export into the regulatory archive
• We think there are around 50 apps in this scope. The apps will need somewhere between 10 & 250 restores each
• Each restore needs tape management, i.E. selection and retrieval from vaults (although they will clearly be bulked up), a restore process to designated storage, and coordination with the app team to load into the DB.
• Key skills are NetBackup, Windows & Linux, maybe a bit of storage / filesystem.
• Candidate should be well versed with restores.
• Need good experience with Veritas backup.
