Job Title : Customer Department Manager (Retail)

Kalki Fashion - Ethnic Wear

Location : Hyderabad

Job Summary :

The Department Manager will oversee the operations of the Ethnic Wear and Designer Wear department, ensuring product availability, visual merchandising, and high-quality customer service. The role requires strong knowledge of Indian ethnic and designer fashion, leadership skills to manage a team, and the ability to drive sales while maintaining brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Ethnic & Designer Wear department.
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall store profitability.
  • Ensure the department is well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing as per brand guidelines.
  • Train and guide sales staff to deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong product knowledge.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, focusing on personalized service for premium designer wear customers.
  • Track sales trends, analyze performance reports, and recommend strategies to improve sales.
  • Coordinate with buyers, vendors, and the central merchandising team for stock planning and replenishment.
  • Handle customer complaints or escalations in a professional and solution-oriented manner.
  • Monitor inventory, prevent stock loss, and ensure timely reporting.
  • Plan and execute promotions, seasonal launches, and special collections in collaboration with marketing and store teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 4–5 years of retail experience, with at least 2 years in apparel / fashion; prior experience in ethnic or designer wear will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrics, embroidery styles, ethnic trends, and designer collections.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage premium customer interactions with professionalism.
  • Analytical skills to read sales data and implement improvements.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and during festive / peak business seasons.
