We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Engineer – Fire to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing fire protection projects, from design and planning to execution and commissioning. This role requires strong technical expertise in fire protection systems, a solid understanding of relevant codes and standards, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely and quality project delivery. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to safety-critical infrastructure projects and work within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities :
- Plan, design, and oversee fire protection system projects including fire detection, alarm, suppression, and sprinkler systems.
- Prepare project plans, schedules, and technical specifications in compliance with industry standards such as NFPA, NBC, IS standards, and local codes.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless execution of fire safety projects.
- Conduct detailed site surveys, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to recommend optimal fire protection solutions.
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of fire protection systems while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Review engineering drawings, system layouts, and material submittals to confirm compliance with project specifications and applicable regulations.
- Provide technical support during project execution, addressing design changes, troubleshooting system issues, and resolving conflicts on-site.
- Ensure accurate documentation, including progress reports, test certificates, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.
- Monitor project costs, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered within budget and schedule.
- Stay updated with new fire protection technologies, materials, and best practices to recommend innovative and cost-effective solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Fire Engineering, or a related discipline.3–7 years of hands-on experience in fire protection system design, installation, and project execution.Strong knowledge of fire safety codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, NBC, IS standards, TAC guidelines).Proficiency in reviewing and preparing engineering drawings using AutoCAD or similar software.Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and a proactive approach to challenges.Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and cross-functional team coordination.Familiarity with procurement processes, vendor management, and contract administration in fire protection projects.Experience in conducting site inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.Commitment to workplace safety and quality assurance standards.Preferred Attributes :
Certification in fire protection engineering, safety management, or project management (e.g., PMP) is an added advantage.Experience working on large-scale commercial, industrial, or residential projects.Strong leadership qualities to guide project teams and contractors.
