ABOUT THE ROLE
Role Designation : Head Horticulture
Department : Horticulture
Location : Angul, Odisha
Key Responsibilities :
Lead the planning, development, and maintenance of all horticulture activities across plant townships, greenbelts, landscaped areas, gardens, and plantations.
Develop and implement a long-term green cover expansion plan aligned with environmental and sustainability goals of the organization.
Supervise day-to-day maintenance of lawns, trees, nurseries, indoor and outdoor plants, ensuring high standards of upkeep and aesthetics.
Introduce sustainable practices such as rainwater harvesting, drip irrigation, organic manure, and waste recycling for green development.
Collaborate with environmental and CSR teams for plantation drives, biodiversity projects, and township beautification initiatives.
Manage a team of horticulturists, gardeners, contractors, and support staff, ensuring productivity and skill development.
Prepare and monitor budgets, procurement of plants, equipment, fertilizers, and other materials.
Liaise with government authorities, environmental boards, and external agencies to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Implement innovative landscaping concepts for townships, guest houses, and office complexes to enhance the overall ambiance.
Monitor plant health and take corrective actions to prevent disease, pest infestation, or seasonal damages.
Desired Experience & Qualification :
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field.
15–20 years of experience in horticulture management, preferably in large industrial projects, steel plants, or corporate townships.
Proven track record of managing large-scale green cover projects and landscaping initiatives.
Strong knowledge of plant species, soil management, irrigation techniques, and sustainable horticulture practices.
