The Role
As a Citrix VDI at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.
There’s never a typical day as a Citrix VDI at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Job Responsibilities :
Required Skills & Experience :
7–10 years of enterprise IT experience, with at least 6+ years in Citrix VDI and / or Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) support.
Strong knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, Citrix Studio / Director, Citrix Cloud, NetScaler ADC.
Hands-on with AVD components (host pools, session hosts, FSLogix profiles, scaling plans, MSIX App Attach).
Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory / Entra ID, Group Policies, and profile management.
Skilled in PowerShell scripting for VDI automation and reporting.
Experience with performance monitoring tools (Citrix Director, ControlUp, Azure Monitor).
Exposure to image lifecycle management and patch compliance in VDI.
Cloud VDI Operations & Maintenance
Validate and maintain the health of Citrix VDI / AVD environments through Citrix Director, Studio, and Azure Portal.
Create and manage machine catalogs, delivery groups, host pools, and session hosts.
Perform FSLogix profile management, user profile cleanup, and policy enforcement.
Manage golden image / master image lifecycle (patching, updating, versioning).
Configure and manage Citrix StoreFront, Citrix Workspace App, and NetScaler ADC gateways.
Handle printer mapping, drive mapping, and resource redirection policies for users.
Cross-Platform & Cloud Integration
Deploy and configure AVD host pools, scaling plans, and MSIX app attach.
Integrate Citrix Cloud / AVD with Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and conditional access.
Enable multi-cloud VDI validation (Azure, AWS, GCP) and compatibility testing.
Manage VDI application publishing (Citrix Virtual Apps, RemoteApps).
Support onboarding of new workloads, apps, and users into Citrix VDI and AVD.
Implement Azure Virtual Network integration and manage storage (Azure Files, Azure NetApp Files).
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Monitor session health, logon times, latency, and resource consumption using Citrix Director, ControlUp, and Azure Monitor.
Troubleshoot user login failures, black screens, profile corruption, and slow session performance.
Resolve Citrix HDX issues (ICA latency, USB redirection, audio / video optimization).
Debug Azure Virtual Desktop session host failures and scaling issues.
Analyze event viewer logs, Citrix UPM / FSLogix logs, and Azure diagnostics for RCA.
Perform VDI capacity planning and scaling for peak demand.
Documentation & Governance
Maintain and update SOPs, runbooks, and configuration baselines for Citrix and AVD.
Document image version changes, patch cycles, and rollback procedures.
Prepare capacity / utilization reports (concurrent sessions, storage usage, licensing consumption).
Ensure compliance with VDI security baselines (CIS hardening, MFA integration, session policies).
Participate in change / release management processes for new features and rollouts.
Soft Skills :
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for complex user-facing VDI issues.
Excellent communication and client engagement abilities for handling escalations.
Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-cloud, multi-vendor environment.
Willingness to operate in a 24x7 support model if required.
Nice-to-Have (Preferred) :
Experience with Citrix App Layering, Citrix WEM (Workspace Environment Management).
Knowledge of AVD automation with Azure ARM templates or Terraform.
Familiarity with Cloud VDI cost optimization strategies.
Certifications :
Citrix Certified Professional (CCP-V / CCA-V)
Microsoft Certified : Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
ITIL v3 / v4 Foundation certification.
