We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Data Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru on a contract-to-hire basis.

This crucial role requires 58 years of dedicated experience focused on validating complex data platforms built on Azure SQL and Databricks.

The ideal candidate must possess expert proficiency in SQL for data validation and reconciliation, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and quality of mission-critical data assets and ETL / ELT pipelines.

Key Responsibilities & Technical Deliverables :

Data Validation & Reconciliation :

SQL Mastery (Mandatory) : Design, write, and execute complex SQL queries for thorough data validation, reconciliation, integrity checks, and comparison across various database systems (RDBMS).
ETL Testing : Plan and execute comprehensive testing of ETL / ELT processes, ensuring data transformations adhere to business logic and performance requirements.
Data Model Validation : Critically assess and validate data models (e.g., dimensional, relational) to ensure fitness-for-use and accuracy.
Scope : Work effectively with datasets of varying complexity, volume, and sensitivity within the Azure ecosystem.

Quality Assurance Lifecycle :

Testing Execution : Execute full-cycle quality activities, including QA testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and detailed regression testing to ensure new deployments do not introduce data issues.

Documentation & Reporting : Meticulously document test cases, test results, defects, and findings, collaborating closely with development and business teams for timely resolution.

Process Compliance : Ensure compliance with all internal quality standards and operate efficiently within Agile methodologies.

Platform & Automation :

Azure Data Tools : Utilize working knowledge of Azure data tools (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Databricks) for accessing and validating data sources and targets.

API Exposure (Preferred) : Possess experience or exposure to API testing concepts for validating data interactions at the service layer.

Automation (Nice to Have) : Experience with scripting for automation or testing frameworks to streamline data quality checks is highly preferred.

Data Design : Familiarity with RDBMS design principles to understand data flow and architecture.

Required Skills & Expertise Summary :

Core Language : Expert proficiency in SQL.

Data Concepts : Deep understanding of ETL / ELT concepts and RDBMS design principles.

Cloud Exposure : Working knowledge of Azure data tools (SQL, Databricks).

Methodology : Experience working in Agile environments.

Testing : Experience with core testing types (QA, UAT, Regression) and exposure to API testing
