Role Description
MEICON is adding a MEP Engineer with specializations in Civil, Electrical and Communication to our fast-growing team. As an MEP Engineer, the individual will be part of an ever-growing organization executing Highrise Residential Projects across India & has enormous potential for career growth.
Location : Gattahalli, Bangalore, Karnataka.
Skills & Responsibilities :
- Prepare Quantity estimates on Electrical, Plumbing and other related systems.
- Develops an in-depth knowledge of the contractual requirements for the project and organizing and managing the timely mobilization of resources on-site, ensuring alignment with the client's defined time, cost, and quality objectives.
- Makes cost estimates on design changes, evaluates cost proposals and contractors’ requests for adjustments.
- Conduct regular and thorough site inspections to verify that all MEP works are being executed in strict compliance with the project's contract specifications and quality standards.
- He / She has to prepare plans, details, specified and cost estimates of plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, fire system and general piping system.
- Conduct and facilitate regular weekly site meetings with contractors and consultants to ensure effective communication, track progress, address issues, and maintain timely delivery of work.
- Take lead responsibility for coordinating with the client and contractors to ensure the timely and efficient provision of necessary site utilities and the proper allocation of site space.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive MEP related construction schedule, including detailed two-week and one-month look-ahead schedules for each contractor, updated bi-weekly, to ensure accurate progress tracking and proactive management of potential delays.
- Conduct detailed reviews of contractor methodologies and resource allocations, and upon client approval, issue necessary instructions to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Oversees site work elements within discipline and provides early notification of potential schedule slippages regarding the electrical construction activities.
- Monitors the work process, performs quality assurance testing and enforces safety requirements.
- Review the Contractor’s installation method statements.
- Review the contractor’s mechanical shop drawing with the structural and electrical engineers to ensure engineering coordination and advise the Project Manager accordingly.
- Where required, prepare technical clarifications to the tendered design to suit specific on-site construction and coordination issues.
- Review Contractor’s mechanical services material proposals against specified technical performance requirements and advise the Project Manager on the appropriateness of the recommendations.
- Continuously monitor and report on contractor progress to the client, proactively identifying and analyzing delay factors related to labor, equipment, and scheduling to mitigate potential impacts.
- Monitoring and reporting to Client of contractor’s procurement and material delivery on site,as well as to put in place a security and documentation system for materials delivered on site.
- Oversee and coordinate all commissioning, final inspections, and handover operations, ensuring a seamless transition from the contractor to the client.
- Collection of as-built drawing and documentation from contractors.
- Take lead responsibility for the review, monitoring, coordination, and resolution of all defects with the Main Contractor and nominated subcontractors during the defects liability period, ensuring all repairs are completed to the client's satisfaction.
- In conjunction with the consultants, settle the final account within 3 months of project Handover.
- Monitor and ensure the timely and accurate preparation of all necessary handover documentation, including operations and maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, equipment commissioning reports, and warranties.
- Establishing standards for final acceptance during the defects liability period and work completion prior to final acceptance.
- Generate and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring timely responses and proper closure, and maintain comprehensive records of all RFI activities.
- Prepare punch lists, indicating the items of work remaining to be accomplished and ensure that these items are completed in an expeditious manner.
- Prepare certificates of substantial and final completion as required.
- Compile and deliver all contractually required guarantees and warranties to the client, certifying their completeness and coverage of all work.
- Co-ordinate and expedite the preparation by the trade contractors of operating and maintenance manuals and similar instructions.
- Organize and coordinate manufacturer representative services to provide on-site personnel with comprehensive training on all major equipment.
- Expedite the timely preparation and submission of accurate as-built drawings from all trade contractors to the client upon project completion, as per specifications.
Requirements and Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in construction, management, or engineering preferable.6-8 years’ working experience.High rise building MEP experience preferred, not mandatory.Engineer must know MS Office, AutoCAD, Construction Project management software.Ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines.Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
