About the Role
Textellent is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Website Optimization Specialist to join our Marketing team. In this newly created role, you will serve as the go-to expert for maintaining and improving our custom WordPress website. You’ll be responsible for implementing updates, optimizing conversion rate & site performance, managing content changes, and providing web analytics insights that support our lead generation as well as brand initiatives.
This is not a drag-and-drop role — our site runs on a fully custom-built WordPress theme , and you will be working directly with template files, functions, and custom fields to execute updates. This position sits at the intersection of marketing, UX, and development — ideal for someone who thrives on building high-performing websites with clean, semantic code and a sharp eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update a custom-coded WordPress theme , including template edits, PHP updates, and front-end adjustments.
- Collaborate with the marketing team members to publish and optimize new landing pages, blog content, and conversion assets
- Run regular site audits to identify UX issues, page speed problems, and outdated content.
- Conduct market research, propose ideas to improve conversion rates, design and conduct A / B tests.
- Monitor and improve site performance (load times, mobile optimization, Core Web Vitals, etc.).
- Manage and troubleshoot WordPress plugins, theme functions, and related code dependencies.
- Set up and manage integrations (e.g., HubSpot forms, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4).
- Track and report on website metrics and user behavior using GA4, Hotjar / Clarity, Search Console, or similar tools.
- Maintain technical documentation of site architecture, custom post types, and plugin configurations.
- Stay current on WordPress core updates, security practices, and modern development techniques.
Required Qualifications
3+ years experience managing WordPress sites with custom themes — not reliant on page builders.Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript (for small enhancements or troubleshooting).Solid understanding of PHP in a WordPress environmentWorking knowledge of GA4, Tag Manager, Clarity and other analytics or performance tools.Experience working with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), custom post types, and taxonomies.Familiarity with version control and deployment workflows.Working knowledge of CRO strategies and tools for testing and conversion tracking.Strong grasp of SEO fundamentals, responsive design, and accessibility standards.Meticulous attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with theme performance optimization (minification, caching, lazy loading, etc.).Familiarity with HubSpot forms and marketing automation tools.Comfort working in staging environments and managing site deployments.Why Join Textellent?
