Android Developer (5-7 years) – Own & Scale POS (Kotlin)

Job descriptionFull delivery lifecycle : Design → Build → Ship → Fix All Android architecture and system decisions App performance, offline capabilities, memory optimization Build config, release process, crash analysis, stability Manage Play Store releases, versioning, and staged rollouts (can be taught if new) Work closely with product, backend, and design to deliver integrated experiences Partner with QA to ensure feature readiness, reproduce edge-case issues, and maintain production quality Long-term platform improvements and modernization Build your Dev. Team (Identify / Train / Coach junior devs) Clean architecture using MVVM, DI (Hilt), modular separation Offline-first and real-time sync layers Future evolution : Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) transition Jetpack Compose adoption where relevant AI-assisted development using tools like Cursor, Windsurf, Claude CLI (Not experienced with AI tools yet? If you're open to learning, we’ll up skill you and help you build 2x faster) 5+ years building production Android apps (≥10k installs or equivalent real-user experience) Deep MVVM and multi-module architecture experience Dependency Injection (Hilt or Dagger2) Firebase tools (Firestore, Functions, Auth, Messaging, Analytics) Comfortable working solo with full delivery ownership Git + modern dev workflows POS, retail, or operational business logic experience Jet Pack Compose experience Hardware integration (Bluetooth / USB printers, scanners, payment devices) Familiarity with analytics SDKs (Amplitude, Intercom, etc.) Any AI tooling experience : Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, etc. Basic testing knowledge (JUnit, Espresso) advanced not mandatory as QA team exists Exposure to CI / CD, Play Store ops, or performance tooling (good to have but not required) Experience with observability tools like Crashlytics, LeakCanary, StrictMode Zero red tape : Build, ship, fix. No approvals required. About the Role
We’re hiring a Lead Android Developer to take complete execution ownership of Zobaze POS, one of the most widely-used mobile-first POS apps for retail and food businesses globally. You’ll work directly with the founder on direction, but everything from architecture to release is your call.
