Job descriptionBuild and maintain UNX universes with Information Design Tool (IDT) : data foundations, business layers, @Functions, contexts, and shortcuts. Design performant WebI reports and Crystal layouts using BEx query metadata; implement prompts, variables, and conditional formatting. Partner with BW / HANA teams on modeling and query design : Consume BW CompositeProviders, ADSO, Open ODS Views, and InfoObjects through BEx queries for BICS consumption. Validate and enhance BEx query elements (RKF / CKF, structures, navigation attributes), query performance (RSRT), and aggregates / partitions. Work with LO Cockpit (LBWE) for SD / MM / FI extractions, manage setup tables (OLI BW fill / initialize, clear, safety delta), delta queues (RSA7), and qRFC (SMQ1 / SMQ2). Understand ODP-SAP (SAPI) vs ODP-CDS / SLT options, initialization / delta, and data quality checks before exposure to BOBJ. Create documentation, standards, and promote content across DEV / QA / PRD; participate in unit / functional / UAT testing and performance testing. 5-8 years with SAP BusinessObjects (4.2 / 4.3), including WebI, IDT / UNX, Crystal; strong BOE administration. Hands-on connectivity to SAP BW on HANA via BICS; experience with HANA views and relational connections. Solid understanding of BW modeling (CompositeProvider, ADSO, Open ODS View), BEx query design, and performance tuning. Working knowledge of ECC / S / 4 extraction concepts including setup tables, delta mechanisms, and LO cockpit. Nice to have : Lumira Designer / AFO, BW / 4HANA exposure, SSO (SNC / SAML), Linux / Windows server ops, and scripting (Shell / PowerShell). About the role
Own the stability and performance of our SAP BusinessObjects platform while enabling trusted enterprise reporting on SAP BW on HANA and other sources.
What you’ll do
Primary : Platform & Report Support
- Administer BOE / BI Platform (CMC, BI LaunchPad), servers, nodes, SIA, Adaptive Job Server; manage upgrades, patches, and promotions (LCM / Promotion Mgmt).
- Troubleshoot Web Intelligence (WebI), Crystal Reports, and Lumira Designer issues (queries, prompts, scheduling, bursting / publications).
- Optimize report and universe performance (query stripping, aggregates, contexts, index awareness, caching); monitor Auditor / Monitoring.
- Manage security : users / groups / AD-SSO, row-level security, connection rights; maintain folders, schedules, calendars, and instances.
- Ensure reliable connectivity to SAP BW on HANA via BICS / OLAP connections and to SAP HANA calculation views / relational sources; configure SSO (SNC / SAML / SAP logon tickets).
Secondary : Development & BW Integration
Support SAP ECC / S / 4 data extraction into BW :
