Summary :
A Senior US Tax Accountant at Ashley Furniture manages critical tax operations for one of America's largest furniture manufacturers and retailers. Key responsibilities include preparing state tax returns, property tax returns, monitoring tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and coordinating with external tax advisors. The role involves analyzing complex tax scenarios for the company's manufacturing, retail, and e-commerce operations. This position also handles tax implications of real estate holdings and other indirect tax compliances. The tax accountant maintains tax documentation, and works closely with accounting teams to optimize tax positions while minimizing risk.
Primary Job Functions :
Prepare and file State sales tax, property tax returns & other indirect taxes and supporting schedules
Manage state tax returns across multiple jurisdictions where Ashley operates
Strong analytical skills
Calculate and document monthly / quarterly tax provisions and effective tax rates
Monitor and ensure compliance with state and local tax regulations
Maintain tax workpapers and documentation for audit support
Perform tax research and analyze impacts of new tax laws
Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors
Manage tax software systems and ensure data accuracy
Prepare monthly / quarterly tax payments and tax account reconciliations
Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
Education :
CA / MBA Finance / M.com / B.com degree in business / related field / equivalent work experience, Required
Experience :
6 months Tax or financeexperience, Required
Big four articleship experience in indirect tax will be added advantage
Work experience of US direct / indirect tax compliances will be added advantage
Work experience of using tax software will be added advantage
