Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Linux Engineer with strong expertise in Operating System and Service Layer development. The ideal candidate should have deep hands-on experience with Linux kernel, middleware, and system-level programming, and not just low-level microcontroller or RTOS development.

You will be responsible for building, customizing, and optimizing Embedded Linux systems, developing applications and services on top of Linux, and debugging system-level issues across hardware and software boundaries.

Key Responsibilities :

Design, develop, and maintain software components running on Embedded Linux platforms.
Build and customize Linux for embedded devices (Yocto, Buildroot, or similar).
Develop and debug Linux kernel modules, device drivers, and middleware services.
Work on system-level debugging, performance optimization, and service layer development.
Develop and integrate applications and services running on Embedded Linux.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, and system teams) to ensure seamless integration and system stability.
Analyze and troubleshoot system-level issues in bootloaders, kernel, and middleware.
Maintain and enhance system configurations, scripts, and automation tools.

Required Skills & Experience :

Strong hands-on experience in Embedded Linux development (kernel, system, and service layers).

Proven experience in building / customizing Linux distributions for embedded systems.

Proficiency in C / C++, Linux shell scripting, and system programming.

Experience in Linux kernel module development and debugging.

Experience with inter-process communication (IPC), systemd services, and middleware frameworks.

Familiarity with Yocto, Buildroot, or other embedded Linux build systems.

Understanding of Linux device tree, drivers, and board bring-up processes.

Knowledge of networking, storage, and security subsystems in Linux.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with ARM-based or x86 embedded platforms.

Exposure to Docker or containerization on embedded devices.

Familiarity with real-time extensions (PREEMPT-RT) or performance tuning on Linux.

Experience in CI / CD for embedded software development.

Open-source contributions or community engagement in Linux kernel / middleware projects.
