Job Title : Wirecut Operator (Medical Devices Industry)

Department : Production / Tool Room

Reports To : Production / Tool Room Supervisor

Experience : 2 – 5 years (preferably in Medical Devices or Precision Engineering Industry)

Job Summary :

The Wirecut Operator will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating Wire EDM machines to produce precision components used in medical devices. The role requires strong attention to detail, understanding of tight tolerances, and adherence to quality and regulatory standards (ISO 13485).

Requirements

Key Responsibilities :

Set up and operate Wirecut EDM machines (e.g., Mitsubishi, Makino, Sodick, or equivalent) to manufacture precision components.

Interpret and work from engineering drawings, CAD models, and process sheets .

Program EDM machines using appropriate parameters for accuracy, surface finish, and dimensional tolerances .

Monitor machining operations to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards .

Perform in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, gauges, CMM, etc.).

Maintain machine logs, tool records, and job documentation as per company and regulatory requirements.

Ensure equipment cleanliness and preventive maintenance .

Collaborate with design, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve machining or tooling issues.

Follow all safety, GMP, and cleanroom procedures relevant to medical device manufacturing.

ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Mechanical, or equivalent discipline.

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Wirecut EDM operations, preferably in Medical Devices, Aerospace, or Precision Engineering .

Sound understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and surface finish requirements .

Experience with tight tolerance machining (micron level precision) .

Familiar with ISO 13485 / ISO 9001 quality systems.

Basic computer and CNC programming knowledge (AutoCAD / CAM software preferred).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Team-oriented, self-disciplined, and quality-focused.
