Job descriptionMaintain accurate bookkeeping and basic accounting entries Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accurate cash reporting Reconcile accounts with vendors and sub-agents Assist in purchasing and processing journal entries, credit / debit notes, and cash entries Support month-end close processes and prepare basic financial reports Collaborate with operations and finance teams across regions to ensure smooth accounting operations Education : Semi-Qualified CA or MBA from any recognized university Experience : 5+ years in accounting operations (preferably in shipping, freight forwarding, logistics, or related sectors) Proficiency in Tally or similar accounting software; good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word) Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams, vendors, and sub-agents Client-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment Quick learner with a proactive approach to problem-solving Join a trusted industry leader with over 30 years of proven excellence in ship agency services and project logistics across the Arabian Gulf Diverse Service Portfolio : Leverage Polaris' full-spectrum capabilities in ship agency, cargo broking, freight forwarding, and international project logistics Client-Centric Ethos : Work in a company that values trust, accountability, and long-term partnerships — not just transactional business Operational Excellence : Collaborate with in-house experts and a seasoned operations team. Polaris is looking for a dynamic and bright Accountant with 5 years' experience to immediately join their team. The accountant will work closely with the senior accountant and support in all accounting responsibilities within the company.
This is an Intermediate position with potential for growth in the role to Senior accountant with greater responsibilities and control.
