Junior Textile Designer

Junior Textile Designer would be responsible for creating designs for fabrics and textiles used in home furnishing fabrics (curtains, upholstery and sheers). This role involves working closely with senior designer, production team, and vendors to ensure that designs meet specifications and market trends. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in design software, colour theory, and textile production processes.

Responsibilities

Design Development : Create and develop textile designs using CAD software (e.G.,Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).

• Colour Matching : Select appropriate colour palettes and create accurate colour concepts for prints, embroideries and jacquards.
• Fabric Selection : Work with different types of fabrics and materials, understandingtheir properties and suitability for various designs.
• Pattern Creation : Develop patterns and prints for textiles, considering the end-useand customer preferences.
• Sample Development : Collaborate with production teams to create samples of textile designs.
• Sales Tools Development : Plan catalogues, hangers and other sales tools for the marketing and sales teams.
• Documentation : Maintain detailed records of designs, revisions, and production processes

Qualifications

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design or a related field.
