Job description

Job responsibilities –

  • Procurement of biopharma ingredients (RM / PM / Consumables / media / filters / chemicals etc) for manufacturing for domestic and overseas regulated markets
  • Manage supply of quality materials and services at right price for - R & D, Quality, Engineering, IT, HR and Admin spend

settlement cycle for an annual spend base of ~ Rs 1000 crore+ including it’s strategy, negotiations, contracting, ordering, delivery and settlement

  • Ensure procurement and supply governance as per the company policy and DOA norms, seek clarity in case of any ambiguity before moving further
  • Supply risk mitigation / alternate vendor development for ease of supply and cost excellence
  • Actively participate in annual budgets, track contract due dates / renewals, and start preparing ahead of time for the procurement strategy / negotiations
  • Compliance to statutory and regulatory requirements including internal / external audits of procurement to pay cycle (p2p)
  • Manage imports and customs clearance
  • Ensure management of all key holders through cross functional collaboration and active participation
  • Proactively handle any concerns of quality, delivery, cost and compliance and ensure resolution / time escalation
  • Adherence to purchasing policy and procedures including statutory and regulatory compliance
  • Take ownership of the spend category

    • Qualification required – Graduate / Postgraduate in Biotechnology / pharmacy / chemistry / chemical engg with PGDMM / MBA in Pharma / Operations / Supply Chain

    Experience required –10 years in similar role of a large size complex organisation.

  • Good in communication and inter-personal abilities – oral / written
  • Stake holder management and collaboration
  • Proactive approach with problem solving attitude
  • Process orientation and strong ethics etc
  • IT / Computer savvy with excel / MS office skills
  • Knowledge of ERP / SAP, Ariba, VendX etc

    • Position based at – Biopharma site (Moraiya)

    Reporting to – Head of Purchase & biopharma site head (matrix reporting)

    Number of Repartees – 6 to 8
