L1 VMware Virtualization Engineer - Ticketing System

Key Responsibilities :

• Install, configure, and administer VMware virtualization environments.
• Perform daily health checks, monitor system performance, and escalate issues to L2 / L3 when required.
• Diagnose and resolve L1-level issues related to VMware, vCenter, and ESXi.
• Manage user-submitted tickets, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.
• Apply patches and updates to vCenter, ESXi, and virtualization components.
• Support multi-node clustered setups and assist in vSAN administration.
• Monitor resource usage using tools such as Grafana, Nagios, or OpsRamp.
• Collaborate with peer teams to resolve technical challenges and share knowledge.
• Create and maintain knowledge base documentation for troubleshooting and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
• Provide high-quality support with a customer-first attitude, ensuring prompt communication and case Skills :
• 2+ years of experience in VMware Virtualization (L1).
• Strong understanding of VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and vSwitches.
• Hands-on experience with vSAN administration.
• Basic troubleshooting of VMware environment issues.
• Experience with server hardware administration (Linux, Windows).
• Knowledge of vCenter and ESXi patching.
• Familiarity with server storage connectivity basics.
• Experience monitoring environments with Grafana, Nagios, OpsRamp.
• Exposure to Incident, Change, and Problem management Skills :
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional technology teams.

• Ability to work in a 24x7 rotational shift environment.
• Demonstrated responsibility for end-to-end problem ownership.
• Strong case management skills with clear summaries and :
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• VMware certifications (e.g., VCP VMware Certified Professional) are a plus
