Head of R&D / Pet Food Technology

Looking for our core team recruit- R&D / Product Champion— a Food Technologist or Animal Nutritionist passionate about developing, testing, and perfecting pet wellness products that meet global standards of nutrition, safety, and quality. You’ll lead innovation, compliance, and product development across a new generation of pet food formats.

What You’ll Do

1. Market Research & Innovation

Identify emerging trends in pet nutrition — from raw and freeze-dried to longevity-led and functional formats — and translate them into viable, differentiated products.

Benchmark against top global players to uncover opportunities for ingredient and process innovation.

Maintain full compliance with FSSAI, CODEX, AAFCO, and FEDIAF standards, ensuring every product meets global quality and safety benchmarks.

Stay current on nutrition regulations, labeling norms, and additive standards.

2. Product Development & Optimization

Develop new products that balance science, safety, and taste appeal

• .Reverse-engineer and optimize existing products for cost, efficiency, and consistency
• .Manage sourcing and vendor partnerships for ingredients and private labeling
• .Conduct sensory and stability testing to validate product shelf life and palatability
• .Oversee cost and production scalability while preserving product integrity

3. Quality & Continuous Improvemen t

Conduct batch testing, sensory evaluation, and consistency checks across production run

s.Design consumer feedback loops and taste panels to refine product formulation

s.Document scientific rationale and technical justifications for all ingredients and additive

s.Establish systems that translate consumer insights into product innovatio

n.

4. Cross-Functional KP Is

Partner with marketing, operations, and production teams to ensure timely and compliant product launch

Education & Backgro und

MSc / MTech in Food Technology, Food Science, or Feed Formulat

ion.PhD or doctoral candidates in Animal Nutrition or Veterinary Sciences prefer

red.Prior hands-on experience in pet food R&D or formulation is essent
