Job Description – Bartender
Key Responsibilities
1. Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve cocktails, mocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and specialty drinks
- Follow standard recipes and presentation guidelines
- Suggest drinks and upsell premium products
- Ensure accurate portion control and consistency in taste
2. Customer Service
Greet guests with a friendly and professional attitudeTake orders and provide menu recommendationsHandle guest queries and resolve minor complaintsBuild rapport with guests to enhance their bar experience3. Bar Operations
Set up and close the bar dailyMaintain stock of liquor, mixers, garnishes, and glasswareKeep the bar clean, organized, and properly sanitizedFollow opening / closing checklists and operational procedures4. Cash Handling
Process payments accurately (cash, card, POS system)Manage tabs for dine-in guestsEnsure proper billing and avoid discrepancies5. Safety & Compliance
Follow alcohol service laws and responsible service guidelinesCheck IDs to ensure legal drinking age complianceMaintain hygiene standards (HACCP and local food safety rules)Report any equipment issues, breakages, or incidents6. Inventory & Stock Management
Assist with stock counts and orderingTrack usage and minimize wasteEnsure proper storage of beveragesEducation Requirements
Minimum :
High School Diploma / 10+2Preferred :
Certification in Bartending, Mixology, or HospitalityTraining in Responsible Alcohol Service (if applicable)Experience Requirements
Entry-Level Restaurants :
1 - 2 year bartending or F&B experienceFreshers with strong communication skills and training may qualifyMid / High-End Restaurants :
1–3 years experience as a BartenderCocktail-making and mixology experience requiredExperience using POS and bar equipmentSkills & Competencies
Strong mixology and drink knowledgeExcellent communication and guest service skillsAbility to work under pressure and multitaskGood memory and attention to detailKnowledge of alcohol regulations and safety proceduresClean, professional, and well-groomed appearanceTeamwork and time managementAdditional Requirements
