This is a permanent full-time position. The shift pattern for this position is Monday – Thursday 9 – 5pm, Friday 9 – 4.30pm
This permanent post will be based within the Occupational Therapy Department at Fruin and Katrin Wards at the Vale of Leven Hospital and Glenarn Ward at the Dumbarton Joint Hospital. The post holder will provide occupational therapy assessments and a range of therapeutic occupation focussed interventions and will work alongside a team of nursing, psychology and support worker staff. The post holder will be able to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and adapt accordingly.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with other disciplines, relatives, carers and partner organisations is essential to this post. The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise occupational therapy support staff. The service provides regular supervision and opportunities for continuous professional development. The successful candidate will be part of a well-established occupational therapy service which focuses on evidence based practice and effective multidisciplinary working. The post holder will work closely with and be supported by Occupational Therapy staff working in the West Dunbartonshire Older Peoples Community Mental Health Service.
