Job Profile / Overview
The Admissions / Student Counselling Officer will be part of the Admissions Outreach Department, responsible for engaging, counselling, and converting prospective student leads for various programs offered by Kumaraguru Institutions. The role focuses extensively on student inquiries generated from Rest of Tamil Nadu and Overseas markets , ensuring that these leads are nurtured effectively through proactive communication, guidance, and support.
The officer will act as the primary point of contact for prospective students and parents, delivering accurate program information, admission requirements, campus offerings, and assisting them throughout the application and enrolment process.
Job Roles & Responsibilities :
Lead Management & Counselling
Handle and nurture student leads received from Rest of Tamil Nadu and international regions.
Conduct tele-counselling, video counselling, and in-person counselling sessions for students and parents.
Provide detailed information on courses, eligibility, admission process, fees, scholarships, and campus facilities.
Maintain timely follow-ups to ensure high lead conversion and strong applicant engagement.
Admissions Support & Coordination
Guide prospective applicants through application form submission, document verification, and interview scheduling.
Coordinate closely with the Admissions Manager and academic departments for updated course information and seat availability.
Support the execution of admission campaigns, webinars, counselling drives, and outreach events.
Communication & Relationship Building
Build positive relationships with students, parents, education consultants, and overseas representatives.
Address student queries professionally with clear communication and empathy.
Represent the institution in external events, education fairs, and virtual sessions as required.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of enquiries, conversions, and follow-up actions in the CRM / admissions management system.
Prepare periodic reports on lead status, conversion metrics, and market insights.
Provide feedback to the management on lead quality, market trends, and improvement areas.
Job Specifications :
Educational Qualification
Any Graduate from a recognized university.
Experience
Minimum 5+ years of experience in student counselling, admissions, education marketing, or related roles.
Experience in handling Tamil Nadu and / or overseas student markets is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Multilingual skills mandatory – proficiency in Hindi preferred; Tamil and English required.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and student engagement skills.
Ability to work under pressure during peak admission periods.
Excellent follow-up, coordination, and relationship management skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and digital communication platforms.
