Role Overview :
The incumbent will be a senior member of the Career Centre, working alongside the Director to enhance student employability and placement outcomes. The role focuses on designing and executing strategic initiatives that connect students with leading employers, build strong industry relationships, and prepare graduates for successful careers.
This position acts as a key bridge between academia and industry, ensuring students are career-ready while aligning employer partnerships with the university’s mission and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Placement Strategy Development
- Collaborate with the Director of Career Services to design and implement comprehensive placement strategies aligned with university goals.
- Monitor and analyze industry trends, employer requirements, and alumni feedback to continuously refine placement approaches.
2. Student Advising & Support
Provide one-on-one and group career counseling to students and alumni, helping them identify career goals and develop effective job search plans.Conduct training sessions, workshops, and mock interviews on resume building, interview skills, networking, and professional etiquette.3. Employer Relations & Networking
Develop and maintain strong connections with local, national, and international employers to expand internship and placement opportunities.Act as the primary liaison between employers and students, coordinating on-campus recruitment drives, job fairs, and industry networking events.4. Internship & Placement Coordination
Oversee the end-to-end process for internships and job placements, ensuring seamless coordination between employers, students, and academic departments.Partner with faculty to integrate career readiness into academic programs.5. Data Analysis & Reporting
Track, analyze, and report on placement metrics, trends, and outcomes to guide decision- making.Prepare periodic reports for university leadership with insights and recommendations for improvement.6. Marketing & Outreach
Create and implement marketing strategies to promote placement initiatives to students, employers, and alumni.Use social media, newsletters, and digital platforms to enhance visibility and engagement.7. Professional Development & Best Practices
Stay updated on evolving job market trends, hiring practices, and career development innovations.Represent the University in industry events, career service forums, and professional conferences.Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or related fields.Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in career services, corporate recruitment, or industry relations.Proven track record of building employer networks and driving placement success.Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.Familiarity with career services technology platforms, applicant tracking systems, and career assessment tools.
