Database Administrator

Technical Requirements-

• Installing and maintaining the Oracle and SQL database software.
• Hands on experience with Database upgrade activities and migration activities
• Creating storage database structures with high-level security features.
• Hands on experience with patching, DB failover activities
• Altering storage structures to meet the evolving needs of the company.
• Setting up database user accounts / user management
• Training users on how to access the information in the database.
• Finding and debugging malfunctioning programs affecting the database integrity.
• Creating autonomous database backups.
• Regularly updating the database security protocols.
• Familiarity with Oracle database design, coding, and documentation.
• Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems, and SQL.
• Knowledge of programming languages and API.
• Operating system experience in Linux
• Oracle management tools (Data Guard, RMAN, Data pump).
• Partitioning.
• Hands on experience with DB standards and end user applications-translating capacity requirements into infrastructure deployment technology.
• Strong practical experience of ORACLE in a production RAC (ASM) environment (11gR2) and higher versions.
• Knowledge onSQL / PLSQL processes.
• Take ownership of performance and capacity monitoring aspects of the DB
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans.
• Create a reliable backup strategy. Ensure database backups are appropriately executed and periodic restorations are exercised to ensure backup quality.
• Performance testing and evaluation to ensure data security, privacy and integrity. Identification of bottle necks and deadlock issues
