Network Engineer - L2 (Contract-to-Hire)
About the Job
Join our dynamic team as an L2 Network Engineer, a key player in managing and optimizing our network infrastructure. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity for a skilled professional with expertise in cloud environments and network support. You'll work in a hybrid model, spending three days a week in our Bengaluru office, collaborating with our global teams in Waterloo and Atlanta. The interview process is a single 45-minute round with the hiring manager.
Key Responsibilities :
As an L2 Network Engineer, you will be responsible for :
- Palo Alto and Meraki Management : Configure, manage, and optimize Palo Alto Prisma for WAN and firewall configurations. You'll also implement and support Meraki network infrastructure to ensure robust and secure network operations.
- Cloud Network Integration : Ensure seamless network integration and support for our cloud-based servers in Azure, GCP, and AWS.
- DNS Management : Configure and maintain DNS entries using Infobox to provide efficient cloud access for our developers and internal teams.
- Collaboration and Support : Work closely with our global teams to provide network operations and DNS management support. You'll also assist in post-merger workstation transitions, resolving Microsoft-related issues to ensure a smooth transition.
- Troubleshooting : Use your strong troubleshooting skills to promptly resolve network issues and maintain high availability and performance.
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Experience :
Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience : A minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering with hands-on exposure to cloud environments.Technical Proficiency : Proven expertise in Palo Alto Networks technologies (specifically Prisma and Start cloud manager), Meraki, and Infobox for DNS management.Networking Fundamentals : A strong understanding of core networking principles, including routing, switching, and Layer 2 network configurations.Collaboration : Experience working with global teams and the ability to support network operations across multiple time zones.Problem-Solving : Excellent troubleshooting skills with a track record of resolving complex network issues.Preferred Skills and Certifications :
Certifications : Holding a Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or other equivalent certifications is a plus.Cloud Knowledge : Familiarity with the networking capabilities of major cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, and AWS.Adaptability : The ability to quickly adapt to evolving network technologies and business requirements.(ref : hirist.tech)
