Job Purpose :
This role is a part of front office investments team which involves working closely with onshore M&G Corporate Credit Research team. The primary role is to provide credit research support to onshore team to enable them to provide high quality and timely insights to portfolio managers investing in public corporate bonds across the globe.
Roles & Responsibilities :
Track & analyse the performance of portfolio companies and provide regular & actionable insights to the onshore team of analysts.
The primary responsibilities involves :
- Prepare / update comprehensive financial models for earnings and events.
- Contribute to earning summaries, credit outlook and other investment writeups on both Investment Grade & High Yield companies under coverage.
- Attend investors' presentation, capital markets days, read earning transcripts and summarize key messages.
- Be abreast of key news events, ratings actions and communicate the event based impact on companies under coverage to onshore analysts.
- Contribute in drafting new issue notes by gathering the required documents, creating financial models from scratch, creating relative bond valuation charts, engaging in investor calls as needed and conducting ESG & themed bond assessments.
- Work on ad hoc research projects, which includes (but not limited to) conducting themed based research, tracking industry KPIs, capital structure and covenant analysis, impact analysis of any external events / corporate actions on company's credit profiles, developing / maintaining industry trackers, assisting in various presentations, etc.
- Build sector knowledge, regularly identify emerging industry themes and events proactively and communicate to onshore analysts. Also conduct knowledge sharing sessions on a regular basis.
- Suggest potential improvements in the model and internal system on a regular basis.
Requisites :
Strong analytical and financial modelling skills with excellent knowledge of financial statements and ratio analysisStrong communication skills with the ability to collaborate, build relationships & exert influenceKeen to improve the efficiency of current and future processes within the teamAble to work independently but collaborate both within and across teamsKnowledge of data manipulation tools such as Excel / VBA, PowerBi, Python and third party applications such as Bloomberg, CapitalIQ, Factiva would be beneficial4-5 years of experience in credit rating / research.
