Senior Test Engineer - Database Tester (Manual & PL / SQL)

Position Description :

We are seeking an experienced Database Test Engineer with strong expertise in manual testing and deep knowledge of the Wealth Management domain. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in PL / SQL, database validation, and ETL process testing, with a proven track record of ensuring data quality and integrity in complex financial systems.

Your future duties and responsibilities :

Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual test cases for complex database functionalities, stored procedures, triggers, and ETL processes.

Perform extensive data validation and integrity checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across various financial systems, particularly within the Wealth Management domain.

Write and execute complex SQL queries (PL / SQL) to validate data, identify discrepancies, and support testing efforts.

Analyze and interpret business requirements to create effective test strategies and plans for database testing.

Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand data models and application logic.

Identify, document, and track defects using a defect management system, providing clear and concise steps to reproduce issues.

Perform regression testing to ensure new changes do not negatively impact existing functionalities.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and tools.

Ensure adherence to data privacy and security standards relevant to financial data.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role :

6+ years of experience in database testing with a strong focus on manual testing methodologies.

Proven strong proficiency in PL / SQL for querying, analyzing, and validating large datasets.

Extensive experience in the Wealth Management domain is mandatory, understanding concepts like portfolios, assets, transactions, client accounts, performance reporting, etc.

Solid understanding of relational database concepts, data warehousing, and ETL processes.

Experience with various testing types : functional, integration, regression, performance, and data migration testing.

Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps) and test management tools (e.g., TestRail, ALM).

Ability to read and understand complex data models and schema definitions.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
