Job description

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for, to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G plc's operational risk.
  • Provide support to the Finance Business partners.
  • Production of financial papers and business line reporting for presentation at business review meetings including insightful commentary.
  • Provide analysis, insight and understanding of the profitability drivers of the P&L.
  • Proactively find synergies through consistent reporting across business areas and with segmental and group reporting.
  • Work closely with Finance colleagues to understand costs and revenues and analyse these against comparatives.
  • Build an understanding of the business areas supported and ensure that information sharing and best practice is embedded across the team.

    Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification

    Knowledge, skills and experience :

  • Confidence & excellent communication
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Able to liaise effectively with personnel at all levels and build strong relationships across the business.
  • Very strong analytical and problem solving skills with a good track record of process improvement. Able to question and understand complex financial data, and demonstrate experience in presenting analysis in a succinct manner and appropriate format.
  • Being organised, drive delivery and able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills. Highly numerate, logical and capable of lateral thinking.
  • Experience with Oracle / SmartView and / or other Finance reporting systems
  • An ability to operate at both a detailed and high (bigger picture) level
  • A strong interest in and / or experience of asset management

    • Educational Qualification :

  • Graduate in any discipline
  • Qualified accountant, or part-qualified accountant with significant experience
