Key Responsibilities
CMDB Strategy Leadership Develop and drive the overall strategy for CMDB implementation and ongoing management aligning the CMDB with organizational goals ITIL best practices and business priorities
Architecture Design Architect scalable robust and secure CMDB solutions within ServiceNow ensuring the right data models structures and relationships are established for effective configuration item CI tracking
Implementation Enhancement Lead the technical delivery of CMDB projects including the initial build ongoing improvements and periodic upgrades Oversee configuration customization and development using ServiceNow tools and scripting
Integration Design and manage integrations between the CMDB and other ServiceNow modules such as Incident Change Problem Asset Management as well as thirdparty systems like discovery tools monitoring platforms and external databases
Data Quality Governance Establish and maintain data quality standards ensuring CI data is accurate complete and uptodate Define governance models processes and policies for data stewardship and lifecycle management
Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to understand requirements gather feedback and evangelize the value of a wellmanaged CMDB Conduct workshops demos and training sessions as needed
Documentation Knowledge Transfer Maintain comprehensive documentation for the CMDB architecture processes integrations and customizations Facilitate knowledge transfer to team members and stakeholders for smooth operations
Continuous Improvement Monitor CMDB health and usage regularly analyze metrics and recommend or implement enhancements for better performance usability and business outcomes
Troubleshooting Support Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for CMDBrelated issues collaborating with ServiceNow support and internal teams to resolve incidents and problems promptly
Compliance Security Ensure the CMDB complies with relevant regulatory data privacy and security standards Implement controls to safeguard sensitive data and audit logs
Required Skills Qualifications
Education Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field Advanced certifications in ServiceNow andor ITIL are preferred
Experience Minimum 5 years of handson experience with ServiceNow particularly in CMDB implementation configuration and administration Experience in IT operations asset management or service management is highly desirable
Technical Expertise Deep understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture CMDB data models and scripting JavaScript Glide Web Services etc Familiarity with ServiceNow Discovery Service Mapping and integration APIs
Process Knowledge Strong grasp of ITIL practices especially Configuration Management Incident Management Change Management and Problem Management
Analytical ProblemSolving Excellent analytical troubleshooting and decisionmaking skills to resolve complex technical and process challenges
Communication Leadership Effective communicator able to articulate technical concepts to nontechnical audiences Proven leadership skills in guiding teams and stakeholders
