gemstone supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily gemstone processing, including managing a team, ensuring quality control, and maintaining workflows to meet production targets. Key duties involve assigning tasks, training staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and performing quality checks on both rough and cut gemstones. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of gemstones and processing, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

Team and workflow management : Delegate daily tasks, train and educate subordinates, schedule work, and manage the overall workflow of the department.

Quality control : Conduct quality checks on final products to ensure they meet customer requirements and company standards. This includes checking for defects, assessing quality, and verifying that specifications are met.

Production and planning : Plan equipment, material, and manpower requirements to meet production orders and ensure timely delivery.

Technical oversight : Supervise specific processing steps like rough cutting, faceting, and polishing. This may involve marking stones for cuts and ensuring calibration of rough gemstones.

Safety and compliance : Maintain a safe and healthy working environment and ensure all safety protocols are followed.

Record keeping : Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and quality inspections.
