We are seeking a skilled Field Server Engineer to provide on-site support and maintenance for enterprise-grade HP servers and storage systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing hardware-related service calls, particularly with HP ProLiant DL360 / DL380 , 3PAR , Apollo , Synergy , and HP Tape Libraries .
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform on-site diagnostics, hardware troubleshooting, and repair of HP server and storage systems.
- Handle support calls for HP ProLiant Servers (DL360 / DL380) , HP 3PAR Storage , HP Apollo , HP Synergy , and HP Tape Libraries .
- Replace server components (motherboards, drives, power supplies, memory, etc.) and perform firmware upgrades.
- Collaborate with HP support and logistics to ensure timely resolution of hardware issues.
- Maintain documentation of service calls, parts used, and issue resolution details.
- Provide guidance and technical assistance to clients on server and storage systems.
- Ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) and client satisfaction targets are consistently met.
Requirements :
Proven experience in handling hardware calls and support for HP servers and storage.Strong understanding of server architecture , RAID configuration , and SAN / NAS storage systems.Hands-on experience with HP tools and diagnostics (e.g., Insight Diagnostics, SmartStart, iLO).Familiarity with data center environments and cabling standards.Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.Willingness to travel to client locations as needed.Relevant certifications (HP ASE, CompTIA Server+, or similar) are a plus.Preferred Qualifications :
1+ years of experience in server and storage hardware support.Prior experience working with enterprise-level clients.Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.Skills Required
